The Alan S Bator
Memorial Tournament is sponsored and administered by Southington Northern Little
League. This is a 12-year old All-Star tournament and teams which
participated in Little League District tournaments are encouraged to attend.
All decisions will be made by the Alan S Bator Memorial Tournament Committee and
will be final. Any questions should be directed to one of the Tournament
Committee members listed above. TOURNAMENT
DIRECTOR The Tournament Director will be present at all games and will be responsible for making all decisions. The Tournament Director will be a member of the Tournament Committee. REGISTRATION
AND ROSTER All teams must complete
and carry their tournament affidavit supplied by the Tournament Committee.
A team may also bring their Little League District Tournament affidavit as well
and provide copies of birth certificates for any new or replacement players.
Each team must have a maximum of 14 players and a minimum of 12 players, a
manager and two coaches. All information on the affidavit must be
completed. A copy of each player's birth certificate must be attached to
the affidavit. A player's age will be determined to be what his/her age is
on April 30, 2008. PRE-GAME
INFIELD Each team will be
provided 5 minutes for infield. The visiting team will take the field
first followed by the home team. The Tournament Director has the
discretion to shorten or eliminate this time if necessary. SCORES All teams must report
the score of their game to the Tournament Director immediately following each
game. Failure to report scores may result in your elimination from the
single elimination portion of this tournament. PITCHING
RECORDS The Tournament Director
is responsible for the official pitching record. Each manager must report
their teams pitchers after each game to the Tournament Director. Failure
to properly complete the pitching record may result in your teams elimination
from the single elimination portion of this tournament. RAIN In the event of
inclement weather, the Tournament Committee will make every effort to make up
all games. However, games may need to be cancelled in order to remain on
schedule for the single elimination tournament. The decision to play or
not play will be the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee. BEHAVIOR Managers, coaches and
players will demonstrate their respect to opposing players, coaches, umpires and
tournament officials. Any participant ejected from any game will forfeit
their eligibility to participate in the next scheduled game. In the event
they are not present at the next game they will forfeit their eligibility to
participate in the next game they planned on attending. If the offense is
of a serious nature as determined by the umpires and tournament officials, the
participant may be removed from the remainder of the tournament. FORMAT There will be two
segments to the tournament, a round robin segment and a single elimination
segment. The round robin segment may be shortened due to inclement
weather. In the event all teams in the pool do not have an equal number of
games played, the order of finish will be determined by the best winning
percentage. The two teams in each bracket finishing with the best winning
percentage will advance to the single elimination portion of the tournament. TIE
BREAKER RULE Pool Play In the case of a
two-way tie, advancement and seeding will be determined by head-to-head play
between the teams involved. In the case of a
three-way or more tie where there is no clear cut head-to-head winner, the total
number of runs allowed divided by defensive innings played will be
used to advance the first team and
advancement of the
second team will be determined by head-to-head play between the remaining teams
involved. UMPIRES The tournament
committee will make every effort to have a minimum of two umpires for each game.
Circumstances beyond the Tournament Committee’s control may result in only one
umpire being available for a game. There
will be at least three umpires for every game of the single elimination segment
of the tournament. BASEBALLS Baseballs will be
provided by the Tournament Committee. Little League approved baseballs
will be used throughout the tournament. AWARDS The tournament champion
and runner up will receive individual trophies.
The tournament champion will also receive a team plaque. PLAYING
RULES The 2008 Little League
Baseball Division Tournament Rules will apply in their entirety. Home team will be
decided by a coin flip before each game. Home team will occupy the first
base dugout. The visiting team will occupy the third base dugout. The 10-run "mercy

in unable to field 9 players with a 15-minute grace period, the game will be
referred to the Tournament Committee for possible forfeiture. Copyright © 1999-2008 Southington Northern Baseball,
